As a child, I used to draw all the time. Wherever we went, I would take my sketchbook and felttips with me. In high school I chose drawing and art history as an extra subject, and graduated with a 10 (the highest score in the Dutch system).
After high school, I drifted away from art for a while, but after a few years enrolled in the Academy of Art Direction & Design in Amsterdam, from which I graduated cum laude.
I began working for broadcast companies and network channels. Always in the role of creating the best environment for others to be creative, not being creative myself.
For almost two decades, I hardly made any art work at all. Everyday life happened, and the inspiration was lost. Until last year, when it suddenly started “itching” again. Creativity started again in October 2020, and I haven’t stopped drawing since. Very, very happy to be back!
